My best tactic for bases was just running through them quickly to blow up one or two alarms before they could be activated, then cleaning up everyone else free of reinforcements. You can have silenced weapons but I swear they alert people just as much as normal ones. Most of your companions will alert cult members to your presence regardless of whatever youвЂ™re doing.

Far Cry 5 has some stealth tools, but not many, and itвЂ™s hard and not really worth it to take a stealth approach to most encounters. I remember back in the days of Far Cry 3 trying to go through entire outposts not being seen or raising any alarms but now? Stealth is not exactly a priority. Need to rack up those deer skins/wolf skins/turkey feathers? Simply point at any wildlife you see and sheвЂ™ll assassinate it for you, point and click. SheвЂ™s a sniper, and you can direct her to one-shot almost any enemy in the game, outside of bosses, making her exceedingly useful. Always Have Grace Armstrong in Your SquadД®veryone might have their own favorite companion in Far Cry 5, but mine is Grace Armstrong, who you can unlock by helping her out on the far west side of the map. Having two companions not only means more kills by your squad (and yes, they are actually useful in Far Cry, unlike other games), but also you have not one, but two people who can revive you when you fall, so itвЂ™s essentially like having another extra life.Д¦. YouвЂ™ll unlock a couple free ones here and there as well, but these are the two you should purchase out of pocket.ДЄbove all else, this is the most useful perk in the game, as it will allow you to have two companions instead of one, turning you almost into a full Ghost Recon Wildlands squad. Between these two, theyвЂ™re really the only vehicles you need the entire game. For my money, I would buy 1) an ATV, as it will allow you to blow through any terrain on the map, and youвЂ™ll need to offroad a lot 2) one of the helicopters with mounted guns, as helicopter flying is actually very smooth and this game and 20x better than flying planes, which are almost impossible to reuse.

You can buy a whole host of vehicles in Far Cry 5, but as ever, piloting them is pretty rough as driving mechanics are not this series strong suit. The Only Good Vehicles Are ATVs And Helicopters Whenever you see these on your map, do them. The bonus cash you find there is probably the largest amount youвЂ™ll find in a single place as well. This is more or less the only place you can get skill points outside of the achievement system, and at 3 points per stash, usually, these are invaluable to upgrading your character. They are little mini puzzles that will eventually unlock a stash of weapons, ammo and most importantly, cash and skill points. Oh, and get the Leadership perk as soon as thatвЂ™s available, but IвЂ™ll talk about that later.ДЄs ever, Far Cry 5 has ten thousands things to do and find on the map, but I highly recommend prioritizing prepper stashes, which show up as little green diamonds on the map, and are given to you by random townsfolk. Low on the priority list are the (very expensive) increased ammo reserve upgrades, but honestly, I rarely find myself running low on ammo so long as I kept up looting corpses. For my money, IвЂ™d prioritize accessibility stuff like climbing first (thatвЂ™s only one point), but for bigger stuff, IвЂ™d go with health increases (you can unlock more levels later in the story), additional weapon slots, then I might go with weapon handling for each of the classes. So, what to do with those skill points? I will say that the skill system in Far Cry 5 isвЂ¦pretty barebones. Since everyone will drop an assault rifle on death, youвЂ™ll get enough kills with that quickly, so make sure you go through the full cycle of weaponry to get enough kills with shotguns, snipers, pistols, SMGs, flamethrowers, RPGs, etc and the skill points will come rolling in. While dynamite is the most readily available explosive, once you get enough kills with it to unlock its skill points, start switching to grenades, remote explosives, molotovs etc. What this means in practice is that you should diversify your gameplay as much as possible.

In other words, no more skinning 12 badgers to upgrade your quiver. All of it feeds into the same pool of points to unlock perks. The entire system is now linked to вЂњachievementsвЂќ where youвЂ™ll get a certain number of skill points for hitting milestones in the game, whether that be kills with certain weapons, or hunting certain animals or catching certain fish. The first thing you have to realize about Far Cry 5 is that itвЂ™s totally changed how it doles out skill points and upgrades.
